The summer is the perfect time to go on holiday, but while some travel companies and airlines may advertise unbelievable prices for holidays to the hottest and most popular destinations, many of them are only advertising a price that will only apply to certain people, such as travellers with children or flights on a certain date and time. So if you’re looking to save money on your summer holiday this year, here are some great tricks that will help you do just that.
Book Early
While some operators may pride themselves on providing cheap last minute holidays, they can be very difficult to find, and last minute, may mean just that, and you could find yourself jetting out within hours of visiting a travel agent or browsing ‘cheap holidays’ online. So if you prefer to know exactly when you’ll be going want to avoid having to drop everything in order to go on holiday, then booking your holiday up to six months in advance could be the option for you.
Shop Around
Up until a few years ago, the only way to book a holiday was through a high street travel agent, who you would visit in person or call on the phone. While these travel agents still exist, it’s much easier for consumers to research book holidays online, as you can instantly view the prices, images and reviews of your chosen holiday or resort. While most people would start by searching for a holiday by typing a specific word or phrase like ‘
cheap beach holidays’
into an online search engine, this can return thousands of not millions of results. But don’t be put off by this, stick with well-known travel companies, make sure the sites are members of ABTA, and never, ever book the very first holiday you find without looking at what else is no offer first.
